About this role:
We're looking for a skilled Project and Partnerships Lead - Rural Strategy to guide the development and delivery of our district's first rural strategy. This role is about working with rural communities, Maaori, and industry to ensure rural priorities are reflected in council planning, policies, and services.
Success will be built on strong partnerships and genuine collaboration with Maaori, farmers, rural businesses, and community groups.
What I do?
- Develop and deliver against a project management plan and report to the project governance group.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Maaori, farmers, rural businesses, and community groups.
- Identify and manage partnership opportunities.
- Organise and facilitate workshops, forums, and consultations.
- Develop and deliver project and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Monitor performance and report progress to governance groups and senior leaders.
- Support organisational reporting on rural outcomes.
What I bring?
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Or proven experience (7+ years) in project management, particularly in leading complex projects preferably within rural sector, or public sector.
- Capability to carve new paths in ambiguity and complexity.
- Strong relationships skills and experience partnering with others
- A collaborative and practical approach to working with diverse communities.
- Strong analytical and strategic skills
- Understanding and experience delivering project management best practice

Additional Information
Location: Ngaruawahia
Hours of work: 20-40 hours per week, fixed term for 14 months.
