Project Manager

1. Position Description

The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end coordination and delivery of assigned aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) projects within AMRO. This role ensures that all project activities are executed in line with contractual agreements, budget constraints, operational targets, and quality standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary operational liaison between the internal teams and assigned customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Part A - CORE TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Execution

  • Lead assigned projects from initiation through completion, ensuring full compliance with the contract, customer expectations, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain end-to-end oversight of planning, execution, quality assurance, cost control, and timely delivery.
  • Conduct project kick-offs and ensure alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Translate customer work scope into detailed production plans, coordinating with Production leads and supporting teams.
  • Monitor project progress daily to ensure adherence to turnaround time (TAT), budget, and key deliverables.
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, and change requests related to the project.
  • Manage project modifications, scope changes, and additional work in a commercially sound and documented manner.
  • Facilitate mid-project and closing reviews with the customer and internal departments.
  • Support accurate and timely invoicing by validating completed work against contractual obligations.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through consistent communication and issue resolution.

Customer Interaction

  • Serve as the single point of contact for assigned customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and host customer meetings and inspections (e.g., project reviews, spot checks, delivery meetings).
  • Maintain transparency on project status, deviations, and recovery actions.
  • Ensure all customer-specific requirements (e.g., documentation, release conditions) are fulfilled.

Internal Collaboration

  • Assist and support Account Managers with proposals, contract negotiations and debt collections, and other commercial activities
  • Work closely with Production leads, Engineering, Logistics, Quality, and other support functions to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings and project boards.
  • Align resources and escalate capacity or capability issues to the Head of Programs
  • Document lessons learned and provide input for continuous improvement of project management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver MRO projects on time, within scope, budget, and quality parameters.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, contractual obligations, and internal standards.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Ensure the readiness of documentation for release to service and billing.

Performance Areas

  • Project delivery performance (TAT, cost, quality, customer satisfaction).
  • Effective scope management and handling of additional work packages
  • Accurate and timely reporting and administration.
  • Cross-functional coordination and stakeholder alignment.
  • Proactive issue identification, escalation, and resolution.

Part B. Required Experience, Competencies & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the aircraft repair and maintenance industry.
  • Data-driven decision-making and analytical skills.
  • Customer service mentality and ability to work in a team
  • IPMA-C or D (or equivalent) project management certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul environments.
  • Familiarity with EASA/FAA Part-145 regulations and maintenance standards.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, planning tools, and MRO project lifecycles.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written); additional language skills are advantageous.
  • Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in project tracking and ERP systems (e.g., Pentagon or similar).
