Project Manager in Regenerative Agriculture
Role & Purpose: This is an exciting new position with BASE Ireland, who are the lead partner with the BASE-Line EIP. The EIP was co-designed by BASE Ireland, its member farmers, South East Technology University, UCD and supported by a wide range of professionals working in regenerative agriculture in Ireland. The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall implementation of the project, under the oversight of BASE Ireland and an experienced Operational Group.
Project Description: The BASE-Line European Innovation Partnership (EIP) is a 4½ year regenerative agriculture project. It seeks to implement, evaluate and promote regenerative agriculture practices to restore soil health, increase biodiversity, and improve the resilience of farming systems in Ireland. The BASE-Line EIP is co-funded by the European Union and the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine, the BASE-Line EIP fully adheres to the aim of EIPs, funded to test new ideas and practices, which can then be used widely by farmers, and others, to improve productivity and enhance resource efficiency. Employer: BASE Ireland is the Project Lead and will be the employer of the small project team. BASE (Biodiversity, Agriculture, Soil and Environment) Ireland is part of an international community of farmers and agriculture professionals committed to advancing the knowledge and practice of Regenerative Agriculture (RA). The BASE-Line EIP focuses on identifying key RA techniques such as no-till farming, diverse crop rotations, cover cropping, composting, livestock integration, and combi-cropping. It will also investigate social, economic, and environmental impacts to develop scalable models for integrating RA into conventional farming.

Reporting To: The Project Manager’s work will be directed by the core management team and the EIP Operational Group. The Project Manager will report directly to the EIP Project Lead (BASE Ireland Chairperson). All employer/employee-related matters (key performance indicators, contract queries, timesheets, leave, etc.) will be dealt with by the Project Lead. In addition, the Project Manager will be expected to present monthly reports (technical and financial) to the wider EIP Operational Group.
As the Project Manager in Regenerative Agriculture you will lead initiatives focused on regenerative agriculture. You'll be responsible for coordinating various work packages, and managing all reporting to the DAFM for this EIP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the project team and the EIP Operational Group.
- Oversee the implementation of all EIP work packages.
- Manage all project reporting (technical and financial) and lead on all DAFM liaison.
Requirements:
- At least six years of project management experience, preferably in farming or the environmental sector.
- Background in agriculture (preferably regenerative agriculture), biodiversity, or sustainable land use.
Salary & Contract: Up to €65,000 per annum with a 4.25-year fixed purpose contract.
