Qualified Electrician

Electrician – €56,284-€62,400 + bonus scheme – Cork, Ireland

We are a well-established, friendly electrical contracting companybased in Cork with a team of 15 professionals, covering Cork city and surrounding areas.

Due to continued growth, we are now looking for an experienced electrician to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has extensive experience to lead hands-on installation, commissioning and maintenance of residential and commercial electrical systems.

About the Role

In this role you will be carrying out domestic and commercial installation and maintenance ensuring compliance with safe electric requirements, delivering highquality handovers and documentation. You’ll be the technical point of contact driving efficient delivery, troubleshooting complex electrical issues and supporting continuous improvement of our practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including wiring, circuit breakers, and lighting systems in residential and commercial settings.
  • Diagnose electrical issues effectively and promptly andimplement solutions to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and practices, ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and others.
  • Execute upgrades and modifications to existing electrical systems as required or requested by clients or employers.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as general contractors and project managers, to ensure proper timing and completion of tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any installations completed for reporting and client records.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and explain solutions.
  • Stay updated on the latest electrical regulations, and technology trends in the industry to enhance skillset and project compliance.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior electricians or apprentices, fostering a knowledge-sharing environment.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Relevant electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, FETAC Level 6, or equivalent) Hold a relevant QC number.
  • Hands-on experience as an electrician in residential andcommercial settings.
  • Experience working with various electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing electrical installations, maintenance, and repair projects.
  • Familiarity with wiring systems and installation methods in different environments.
  • Proficiency in using electrical tools and equipment (e.g., multimeters, hand tools, circuit testers).
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory and applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve electrical issues. Meticulous approach to work to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong focus on providing high-quality service and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, coordinating effectively with other trades and professionals.
  • Good physical condition and stamina as the role may involve lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, or at heights.
  • Willingness to learn and keep up to date with new technologies, tools, and methods in the electrical field.
