Quality Technician

Due to a growing demand for our precision engineering products, and a forecast growth rate of 10-15% a year for the next 3 years, DPF Engineering would like you to join their expanding team, and share their passion for engineering excellence. Based in Carlow, we have been manufacturing complex metallic components and assemblies for the Aerospace, High-Tech and Med-Tech industries since 2010. We have a Center of Excellence approach which underscores the importance of skills advancement, process improvement, quality control and investment in high tech CNC machining equipment to meet our customer demands for best quality, best cost and on time delivery of product.

This role is essential in ensuring the precision and reliability of products and contributing to the company's reputation for high-quality engineering. The Quality Technician will be an integral part of the team dedicated to maintaining excellence in every aspect of production.

  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in quality assessments, identifying even small discrepancies.
  • Communication: Effectively conveys quality and safety issues to teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identifies issues and implements solutions to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Teamwork: Works well with others, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Quality Control Tools: Proficient with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and precision measurement equipment.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Skilled in compiling and analysing data, with experience in OEE and scrap analysis.
  • Calibration: Experienced in maintaining and calibrating measurement tools.
  • Auditing: Knowledgeable in conducting internal process audits and reporting findings.

Software Proficiency:

  • Microsoft Office Suite: Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
  • Quality Management Software (QMS): Familiarity with ERP or QMS systems is a plus for managing quality data and audits.

Preferred Background

  • Machining Experience: Familiarity with machining processes and precision manufacturing, including understanding technical drawings and ensuring accurate part production.
  • Manufacturing Aptitude: Strong understanding of production workflows and the ability to identify and resolve process inefficiencies.
  • Metrology Knowledge: Proficient with precision measuring tools (e.g., CMM, micrometres) and ensuring measurement accuracy.
  • Quality Assurance: Experience in quality control practices, inspection, and non-conformance management to ensure product standards are met.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyse data, perform root cause analysis, and make informed, data-driven decisions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or shop floor environment, which may require standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Must be comfortable working with precision equipment and conducting detailed inspections.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €32,000.00-€37,500.00 per year

  • Monday to Friday
