Job Title: Radiologist Assistant Department: Read Room
Reports To: Assist. Administrator/Radiologist Location: Northwest Arkansas

SUMMARY: Assist radiologists with all tasks necessary to maintain efficiency of physician time. Serve as liaison between hospital personnel and RAPA physicians, administration, and business office staff as needed by performing the following duties noted below. Please note that this job requires the candidate to be onsite at either Northwest Hospital in Springdale and/or Northwest Hospital in Bentonville. Medical and/or office administrative experience is preferred but not required. The job is paid hourly at a starting rate of $17/hr. with increases considered based on previous experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is a safety sensitive position.
- Organizes images and electronic and paper documentation in order to expedite reading and dictation by the Radiologists. Organize outside films and hang on viewboxes as needed. Match with paperwork.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
- Ensures that appropriate orders for procedures are in place, as directed by radiologist.
- Calls reports to referring physicians, emergency rooms and hospitals.
- Answers phones in the read rooms, screening calls, prioritizing the calls and requests, and coordinating responses with radiologists.
- Assists in faxing and mailing copies of reports to referring physicians, as needed.
- Coordinates receipt of images from referring physicians, other imaging facilities, and the hospital file rooms.
- Organize and prioritize images in a timely manner for easy access by the radiologists.
- Troubleshoot issues with patient demographics. Inform front desk, business office or other departments of the finding or error.
- Distribute and forward forms to appropriate RAPA and hospital personnel as required.
- May serve as a facilitator between physicians and hospital staff or departments to ensure proper flow of information and assignment of images to be read.
- Responds to all RAPA radiologist requests in an efficient manner in order to allow uninterrupted flow of day to day operations.
- Performs errands for the radiologists as directed to ensure efficient operations of the reading room.
- Other duties as assigned.
