Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for the production and development of quality radiographs, equipment maintenance and quality improvement/quality control according to established policies and procedures. May also perform lab functions as required.
Job Functions
- Instructs patients regarding x-ray procedure.
- Prepares room, equipment and material as needed for patient procedures.
- Communicates with providers, patients and support staff as needed.
- Organizes and maintains x-ray supplies and inventory.
- Provides maintenance, QC and adjustments of radiology equipment.
- Instructs other medical personnel in proper radiological techniques and the maintenance of equipment.
- Maintains film filing system including reports and fil, retrieval.
- Maintains knowledge of current and new technology.
- Oversee compliance programs and represents clinic Radiology department during surveys/audits.
- May also perform lab duties as needed which may include but are not limited to venipuncture, collection of specimens through various routes.
- Demonstrates room and equipment cleaning process between patients.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Work Experience
- Graduate of an approved school of radiology.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
- Knowledge of x-ray safety for patients and personnel
- Knowledge of proper patient positioning and state radiology regulations
- Skill in performing quality control and maintaining records
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and technique problems
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
License/Certifications
- AART Board registered
Preferred Qualifications
- EMR experience
Compensation
Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
