R&D Packaging Supervisor

The R&D Packaging Supervisor is responsible for assisting in packaging innovation, development, and optimization efforts to support product launches and sustainability initiatives. This role involves supervising the end-to-end packaging process, from concept development to commercialization, ensuring that packaging solutions meet technical, regulatory, and consumer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging Development & Innovation

  • Assist in the development and/or innovation of packaging materials for both food and non-food products (personal care and home care)
  • Overseeing the design, testing, and implementation of innovative packaging solutions.
  • Develop packaging strategies aligned with company objectives, sustainability goals, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and material assessments to ensure optimal packaging performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging materials, and new packaging technologies.
  • Assist the conduct of packaging compatibility study.

Project Management & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Oversee multiple packaging development projects from ideation to commercialization.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Product Development, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless packaging execution.
  • Partner with external suppliers, material vendors, and research institutions to drive innovation.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance expectations.

Technical & Regulatory Compliance

  • Conduct packaging performance testing, including stability, transportation, and shelf-life studies.
  • Ensure compliance with global packaging regulations, sustainability standards, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams to address packaging-related challenges.

Sustainability & Cost Optimization

  • Identify opportunities for sustainable packaging solutions (e.g., recyclable, biodegradable, lightweight materials).
  • Optimize packaging design for cost reduction without compromising quality or functionality.
  • Implement best practices for reducing waste and improving supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in packaging development, preferably in the FMCG, food and non-food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industry.
  • Proven track record of managing packaging innovation and development projects.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials (plastics, paper, glass, metal, etc.) and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with packaging testing methodologies and performance evaluation.
  • Understanding of sustainability practices and regulatory requirements in packaging.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Amenable to work both in Bulacan.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php33,000.00 - Php35,000.00 per month
