Regional Risk & Quality Coordinator
Reports To: Regional Risk & Clinical Quality Manager
Location: Regional (Supports multiple ASC sites)
Position Summary
The Regional Risk & Quality Coordinator supports the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) by assisting in the implementation, monitoring, and sustainment of quality, safety, and compliance initiatives. This role partners with facility leaders to drive consistency in survey readiness, performance improvement activities, and regulatory compliance across all ASCs at KU MedWest ASC, LLLC
Key Responsibilities
- Support the regional quality and risk management program, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and accreditation standards (AAAHC, CMS, KDHE).
- Track and trend quality indicators, incident reports, infection control data, and peer review documentation across assigned centers.
- Assist center leaders with developing and maintaining optimal performance and improvement documentation required for governing board and committee reviews.
- Partner with ASC leadership to promote continuous survey readiness, conduct mock audits, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Assist de novo projects with setting up Risk and Quality Programs
- Perform mock surveys for de novo projects for initial licensure and accreditation. Maintain regional databases and trackers for safety events, grievances, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with the Regional Risk & Clinical Quality Manager to analyze trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as a liaison between the regional team and ASC leadership for regulatory updates, new policy implementation, and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Support education and communication related to risk, quality, and patient safety practices.
- Maintain professional working relationship with health system contacts and collaborate on patient events as necessary.
Qualifications
- Licensed RN preferred; LPN or equivalent clinical experience accepted with quality background.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a healthcare quality, risk, or compliance role (ASC experience strongly preferred).
- Strong understanding of AAAHC, CMS, and state regulatory standards.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills; comfortable with data and documentation management.
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites. Regional travel required.
- Display strong skills with Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Ability to identify and resolve technical problems with hardware, software or network issues.
- Detail oriented
