Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of practice in the Out Patient Services setting. The Registered Nurse communicates with physicians, / Director of Surgical Services, House Supervisor and co-workers, as appropriate about changes in the patients clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. The Registered Nurse is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. The Registered Nurse coordinates the care of the patient with the surgeon and/or anesthesiologist, directs and guides and other personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Out Patient Department. Works with other departments and co-workers to provide quality patient care across the continuum, efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization. Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures. Responsible for participation in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services. Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
4. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
5. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
6. Ventilator Management experience preferred.
7. Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred.
8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
