Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse - Telemetry to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a telemetry unit, monitoring patients' vital signs, and responding to their needs effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of cardiac monitoring and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Duties
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings to assess patients' cardiac status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including vital signs and laboratory results.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management and treatment options.
- Perform procedures such as spinal taps when necessary, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in compliance with medical office standards.
- Assist in occupational health assessments and long-term care planning for patients with chronic conditions.
- Stay informed about coding practices related to patient care and workers' compensation law.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in telemetry nursing or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in performing vital sign assessments and interpreting results accurately.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and the ability to coordinate tests as needed.
- Experience in toddler care is a plus, particularly for nurses working in family-centered environments.
- Knowledge of occupational health practices is advantageous for supporting diverse patient populations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
