Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with a strong focus on managing the denial and appeal processes for mental health claims.
This role involves extensive communication with insurance companies to resolve denied or rejected claims efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of medical billing procedures, particularly within the mental health sector, and be knowledgeable in handling claims for mental health prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Denial and Appeal Management: Proactively manage and follow up on denied and rejected claims, identifying reasons for denials, and taking necessary steps to appeal and resolve issues with insurance companies.
- Insurance Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for insurance companies, conducting regular calls to clarify claim statuses, address issues, and expedite the appeal process.
- Client Payment Resolution: Directly contact clients to address non-payment or credit card issues, helping them update payment information and ensuring continuity of service.
- Claims Submission: Accurately submit mental health claims, ensuring all necessary documentation and coding is in place to minimize denial rates.
- Medical Billing for Mental Health Prescriptions: Handle billing for mental health prescriptions, staying current with insurance requirements and best practices specific to mental health billing.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing, with a preference for psychotherapy billing.
- Proven experience in submitting claims, data entry, and resubmitting rejected and denied claims.
- Exceptional phone communication skills with the ability to manage a high volume of calls, effectively resolve issues with insurance representatives and clients, and maintain a professional, empathetic approach.
- High attention to detail, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple claims efficiently.
- Proven experience in mental health billing with a focus on denials, appeals, claims processing, and client payment resolution.
- Analytical Abilities: Basic analytical skills to assist in generating reports and identifying areas for improvement.
- Analytical Abilities: Ability to use data to support decision-making and optimize billing operations.
- Availability to work 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST (New York, USA).
What We Offer:
- Competitive Pay: The yearly pay ranges from $12,000 to $16,500 USD or ₱700,000 to ₱1,000,000 PHP, based on an hourly rate of $6.50 to $8.50 USD.
