The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Research Assistant 1 to join the Brain Health Imaging Centre to support Health Canada-regulated Clinical Imaging Studies in Parkinson’s Disease and related disorders. Reporting to the study Scientist, the Research Assistant 1 will be responsible for arranging subject interviews, ensuring human subject documentation are completed, maintain study records, escorting human subjects for MRI and PET scans, assist with primary data collection and support the data collection and data analysis process, assist with presentations and the preparation of reports and study documentation, perform literature searches and data entry and coding, providing support to other research members. You will support and contribute to a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 250 College Street.

Job Requirements

  • The successful candidate will have completion of Secondary School and/or Specialty Courses and experience working or volunteering in health services or academic setting, an asset.
  • Some experience in clinical programs, mental health or clinical research is preferred.
  • You will have proficiency with Microsoft office, online academic search engines (e.g., PsycINFO, PubMed, MedLine),
  • database software packages
  • Experience with statistical packages (e.g. SPSS or R) and basic analysis is an asset.
  • Experience with neuroimaging including PET and MRI imaging is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and organization skills are required.
  • You will possess the ability to effectively handle confidential information and the ability to exercise initiative with good
  • judgment and tact.
  • Experience with knowledge transfer activities is an asset, as is prior presentation and academic writing experience.
  • Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in another language is an asset.
