54-bed assisted living community located on the old Walter Reed Campus, now known as The Parks DC.

This hybrid position's primary focus will be assisting with entertainment and hospitality duties as assigned by the Resident Service Director but will encompass dining and daily activities.
Duties and Responsibilites.

Activities:
1. Assist the Resident Services Director to develop and implement a schedule of social activities to strengthen and enhance the social, physical, and mental skills of the residents.
2. Work with Resident Services Director to plan, create, and publish the activity calendar and newsletter monthly for distribution to the residents and staff.
3. Initiate motivation of residents to increase desire to participate in activities, while being aware of limitations of each resident.
4. Supervise and participate in activities, which includes preparations, participation, clean up, and compliance with safety regulations.
5. Posts monthly activity calendars and communicates activities to residents, families, staff and other visitors by maintaining an attractive bulletin board, newsletter, announcements, and invitations to all events.
6. Handle incoming phone calls, greet and assist residents and visitors entering the building.
7. Help the Resident Services Director to maintain a well-organized and labeled event decorations and supplies in storage.
8. Respond to resident needs for assistance, as appropriate.
9. Utilizes the electronic medical records system to track resident attendance to activities
Transportation:
1. Assists residents onto and off transporting vehicles.
2. Accompanies residents to appointments outside of the assisted living as scheduled.
Dining Services:
1. Set or reset dining room tables.
2. Greet residents in the dining room and take accurate food and beverage orders.
This position requires the following minimum knowledge, skills and abilities.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have or willing to have current Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- COVID-19 Vaccinated
- Must possess fully functioning sense of sight/hearing or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to allow that job position requirements are fully met.
- Must be able to lift, carry, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach, kneel, push, pull, and twist using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
- Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability
- Potential exposure to bodily fluids, infection, odors, and resident behaviors.
It is expected that every employee will take any necessary steps to stay current with licensing, CEU's, etc. for their respective titles.
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
