Restaurant Food Expediter (Expo)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Food Expediter to join our front of house team. As a food expediter, you will act as a critical link between the kitchen and the dining area. Your primary role is to ensure that food orders are accurate, plated properly, and delivered to guests in a timely manner. This is a fast-paced position that requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and multitasking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and organize food orders from the kitchen to the front of house.
• Ensure all dishes are properly plated, garnished, and meet presentation standards before leaving the kitchen.
• Check orders for completeness and accuracy (e.g., sides, sauces, special requests).
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure timely service.
• Manage the flow of bills during peak service periods to avoid delays.
• Keep the expo station clean, stocked, and organized.
• Alert kitchen staff to any dietary restrictions or special instructions.
• Assist in resolving any service or food-related issues quickly and professionally.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a food expediter, line cook, or in a restaurant setting required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment.
• Requires close collaboration with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
• Expos make the same tips as floor managers.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.85 per hour
