• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
• Upsell complementary products or services to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction
• Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking efforts to promote featured items
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Follow proper phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely, maintaining professionalism at all times

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail or grocery store environment
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in guiding team members or managing store sections
• Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts
• Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms; bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse customers
• Skilled in product demos, merchandising, stocking, and inventory management techniques
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, including stock replenishment and product placement strategies
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude, patience, and active listening capabilities
• Familiarity with phone etiquette standards for professional remote communication
