The role you'll contribute:

Ensures resident care delivery systems meet state and federal regulations and guidelines. Monitors and analyzes quality indicators, develops action plans, and ensures timely follow-up on recommendations. Reviews nursing personnel records and references, and participates in staff evaluations and performance improvement plans. Validates that licensed nursing personnel have valid and current licenses. Validates orientation and ongoing staff development for all personnel. Recommends the number and levels of nursing personnel to be employed and participates in their recruitment, selection, and termination. Participates in the planning, development, and implementation of policies and recommends changes when necessary. Develops and maintains nursing service objectives and standards of nursing practice. Other duties as assigned.

JOB PROFILE SUMMARY Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. This position ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. Additionally, this role develops and implements policies and procedures to improve the quality of care. In addition, this position collaborates with the Administrator and Medical Director to align departmental goals with organizational objectives. Additionally, this role manages staff and resources to ensure efficient and effective operations. Responsibilities for this role include maintaining high standards of patient care and ensuring the department operates smoothly and efficiently.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Field of Study:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

BS Nursing Work Experience:

2 in prior DON experience. [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
