Job description:
Pay rate: $20-30/hour
Location: 86a Sherman Street, Cambridge
Full time :10am-6:00pm from Mondays to Fridays
part-time options as below:
1: Mondays to Fridays (after school program)) 2:30pm-6:30pm
2: Saturdays or Sundays,
9:30am-5:30pm( birthdays party leader host)
3: June - August ( Summer camp)
Mondays to Fridays from 8:30am-5:30pm
The Experience:
Do you love making things with technology and working with kids? Are you looking for a fun summer experience? Would you like to develop your leadership skills? If you said yes, then consider joining The Robo Hub as a Lead Teacher.
At The Robo Hub we will provide a small group experience for all of our kids with no more than 10 kids in each group. Each Lead Teacher will be responsible for ensuring the fun and skill learning for their group with the support of another assistant Teacher. You will be able to develop your leadership skills as you manage your classroom and coach and inspire your teaching team with your robotics or other technology expertise.
The Robo Hub emphasizes fun, so providing instruction will only be a part of your job. You will also support students during project time and oversee our plentiful breaks where kids can play games and get some physical exercise. The most important thing is keeping our kidds safe, happy, and engaged.
About you:
You should have:
- Experience working with kids from 5 - 14
- Strong experience with robotics and/or coding,
- Willingness to digital animation, 3D CAD modeling, and Minecraft
- new technology (Ai, machine learning, gaming design and other things)
- STEM curriculum experiences.
Ideally you also have:
- Experience with LEGO Spike Prime and First LEGO League competitions
- Experience with digital animation, 3D CAD modeling, or Minecraft
- Experience working with neurodiverse students or students with different learning needs
- A portfolio of cool tech creations you can show off to your group.
- Great stories about what it’s like to major in or work in technology
- battleBots competing and or challenges experiences
- Vex robotics competition exp

Core Responsibilities:
As a Lead Teacher you will be expected to:
- Prepare to follow the provided lesson plans, including making adjustments to suit your own style and leverage your unique personal experience
- Lead team building activities and games with your students and instructor team
- Set clear expectations for classroom behavior and manage any challenging behaviors that arise
- Support students in navigating big feelings, including extreme excitement and self-doubt as they overcome challenges
- Maintain an active and engaged presence during student project time
- Coach and support the Teachers and Teaching Assistants that you work with
- Assist in a team effort to maintain the physical space during set-up and clean-up each day
Expect to:
- Master all training and orientation materials
- Engage sincerely in feedback cycles regarding strengths and areas of improvement
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, including not using electronic devices for personal purposes as you work
- Occasionally engage with parents and caregivers during their visits and communicate with parent which their children are learning.
