Description of Job(Core roles & responsibilities, job level)
Reporting to the Country Head-ANZ, the Sales Account Manager, ANZ is responsible for developing the Clarios portfolio in the assigned region by working with existing partners, expanding Clarios MS (market share) inline with the Regional & ANZ strategy that can support the expected growth. He/she will primarily be responsible for account management of existing customers/distributors. Additionally, the role requires the person to assist the wider ANZ team with the implementation, onboarding and ongoing account management of new partners developed in due course of time. This will involve working with local ANZ and Regional teams to execute the sales and marketing strategies for the assigned customer accounts, in cooperation with the ANZ Country Head. He/She will be accountable for the assigned Clarios direct accounts/distributors in their region as a trusted advisor. The candidate will be responsible for sustained mutually profitable business development with the customer. He/She will manage the day-to-day operational and training requirements of the assigned customers and has direct account ownership and results delivery responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES(principal duty)
- Implement sales and marketing activities in accordance with ANZ's Go-to-Market strategies as per the 5-year plan and engage customers in order to achieve annual volume and profit plan goals, in cooperation with ANZ Country Head.
- Consistently on the look-out for organic growth opportunities within the assigned customer base to not just defend the existing business but increase Clarios' SOW (share of wallet) within the assigned customerbase.
- Support the development and execution of the multi-Brand approach in ANZ region to ensure appropriate and consistent market positioning across the region, whilst partnering with customers to differentiate their product and service offerings to reduce channel conflict and assist distributors with their sell-out and sell-through strategies.
- Support the execution of the local distribution / market development strategy and provide data-driven advice on the market specific conditions for the customers within the region (e.g. rebates, bonuses, etc.)
- Support sales/profitability plans and forecasts for the sales performance in the region, and supporting in the inputs for S&OP (Sales and Operational Planning), MOR (Monthly Operating Report) and other reports, as necessary.
- Support the development of sales presentations and new business development proposals. Present customer business performance in internal sales meetings and SBR (Supplier Business Review) and QBR (Quarterly Business Review) meetings with the customers and external conferences, as assigned.
- Direct responsibility for managing and maintaining relationships with the customer at various levels, as a trusted advisor. This includes developing strong working relationships with the customer's purchasing group and other critical functions (e.g. Marketing, Operations, Quality, Sales team etc.).
- Manages day-to-day activities related to attainment of sales, margin and collection goals for assigned accounts.
- Participate in customer visits, trade shows, conferences, road shows as required.
- Responsible for input to CRM platform related to customer activities, opportunities, and pipeline attainment.
- Develop internal financial, engineering, and change documents as required for the customer requirements, in consultation with Country Head ANZ.
- Work with assigned customers to develop sales forecast for input into demand planning system.
- Track/evaluate customers' "sell-out" vs "sell-in", share of wallet and perforance against contract KPI's on a periodic basis.
- Track/evaluate warranty costs and implement a plan to assist customer in warranty control efforts.
- Train customers HO/Branch and Field Sales personnel on battery selling and warranty skills.
- Train and work with customer's commercial sales teams in their respective regional areas.
- Provide follow up support for the customer on consumer complants and liability claims.
- Provide weekly activity update to Country Head ANZ. Provide periodic reporting updates to Clarios management on status of customer initiatives, competitors' activities etc. for management reporting system.
- Cross functional interaction and coordination with internal departments (e.g. Marketing, Sales Admin Customer excellence, Logistics, Quality Control, Product Engineering, Plant, Finance) to proactively identify and resolve customer-related issues (e.g. financial, production, distribution topics)
- Performs special assignments and analysis from time to time, as directed by Country Head ANZ
REQUIREMENTS(Key Attributes)
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing (or equivalent), or equivalent field of education or work cumulated experience.
- 5+ years of Key Account Management experience (B2B customer facing roles), preferably within the automotive and/or industrial independent aftermarket sector. Prior experience in new business development will be a plus.
- Knowledge of battery industry/automotive aftermarket industry is a plus.
- Business acumen, attention to details, customer orientation, organization and coordination skills, self-initiative and ability to deliver under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, public speaking, conflict management and negotiation skills.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Able to travel 25% of the time within Australia and New Zealand.
- Computer literacy e.g. MS Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc.
- A full Australian driving licence.
