About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and motivated Sales Development Representative (SDR) to generate qualified leads and create new business opportunities for our software development services. You will play a crucial role in the early stages of the sales cycle by identifying prospects, initiating conversations, and setting up meetings for the Account Executive (AE) team.
This role is ideal for someone who is energetic, organized, persuasive, and eager to grow in a software sales career.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound prospecting through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and other channels to generate qualified leads.
- Research and identify potential clients in target industries for mobile app, web app, and custom software development services.
- Qualify inbound leads by understanding their needs, budget, timelines, and decision-making structures.
- Schedule discovery meetings and hand off qualified prospects to the Account Executive team.
- Maintain high levels of activity including calls, emails, follow-ups, and touchpoints.
- Develop a strong understanding of our service offerings to confidently communicate value propositions during initial outreach.
- Maintain and update CRM with accurate lead information, notes, and activity logs.
- Collaborate with Account Executives, marketing team, and senior leadership to refine outreach strategies and improve lead quality.
- Nurture early-stage leads through structured follow-up sequences until they are ready for handoff.
- Track and report weekly performance metrics including outreach volume, response rates, meeting conversions, and pipeline contributions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market shifts to improve targeting and messaging.
- Support outbound campaigns and lead-generation initiatives as directed by the sales leadership.
- Willingness to travel for in-person prospecting and meetings.
- Experience with sales and outreach tools is preferred (e.g., CRM Systems, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, ZoomInfo, Lemlist).
Required Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in sales, lead generation, or SDR/BDR roles, preferably within software development, SaaS, IT services, or digital agencies.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
- A hunter mentality with the resilience needed for high-volume outreach and rejection handling.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple prospects simultaneously.
- Basic understanding of software development concepts (mobile apps, web apps, custom solutions).
- Experience working with CRM systems.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly assess prospect needs.
- Positive attitude, self-driven mindset, and eagerness to grow into a closing role (AE track).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, IT, Communications, or a related field.
Compensation
- Base salary: $25,000 - $30,000 a year (experience-based).
- Performance-based incentives and commissions.
- Growth path to Account Executive role for high performers.
Pay: $25,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
