Job Summary:
The Sales Executive is responsible for promoting and selling wines and/or spirits products to potential customers, clients, and distributors. This role involves building strong relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets within the food and beverage industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales and Business Development:
- Prospect and generate leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, visits, and referrals.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities to expand the customer base and increase revenue.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs, and providing the appropriate product that suits their needs.
- Regularly engage with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and address any concerns.
Product Knowledge:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the wine and spirits products being offered, including their origin, type, taste, food pairing, etc.
- Communicate product information effectively to customers and provide wine tasting when necessary.
Sales Presentations and Proposals:
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to potential clients.
- Highlight the value proposition of products and demonstrate how they meet customer needs.
Negotiation and Pricing:
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with clients to secure profitable deals while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Balance competitive pricing with maintaining profit margins.
Market Research and Analysis:
- Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences within the wine and spirits industry.
- Use market insights to tailor sales strategies and identify niche markets.
Sales Targets and Quotas:
- Set and achieve sales targets and quotas within defined territories or markets.
- Develop strategies to exceed sales goals and drive revenue growth.
Pipeline Management:
- Maintain an organized sales pipeline with accurate records of leads, prospects, and customer interactions.
- Utilize customer relationship management (CRM) software to track and manage sales activities.
Collaboration with Teams:
- Collaborate with marketing, sales admin, and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of products and support for customer requirements.
Trade Shows and Events:
- Participate in industry trade shows, exhibitions, and events to showcase products, network, and generate leads.
Customer Feedback:
- Gather and relay customer feedback to internal teams to drive process improvements and enhancements.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and analyses for management review.
Ethical Conduct:
- Uphold ethical standards in all sales activities, maintaining honesty and integrity in interactions with clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience working as Sales Executive or similar role.
- Proven record of successful closed deals.
- Understanding of customer-centric marketing principles.
- Great interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to do field work.
- Willing to travel.
- Sales experience in food and beverage industry is an advantage.
