Position Summary:
Guardian is seeking a Security Technician Trainee who is actively pursuing their 06 License to assist with the installation and servicing of home and business alarm and automation systems. Working under the guidance of licensed technicians, this role offers hands-on experience and structured skill development - ideal for individuals early in their low-voltage career. Candidates must hold a valid Washington State 06 Low Voltage Trainee card, bring a strong customer-service mindset, show a willingness to learn, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Schedule: Frequent visits to job sites; schedule may shift depending on customer availability.
Work Setting: Onsite
Pay: $21 - $24 per hour, depending on experience
About the Position:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned as needed.
- Responsible for the installation of alarm and home automation systems (including, but not limited to, door and window sensors, motion sensors, glass break sensors, remote controls, cameras, door locks, and all other products used by the company).
- Self-dispatch to service calls and ensuring prompt arrival to customers’ homes and businesses.
- Responsible for both upgrading and up-selling customers’ equipment and packages, when needed.
- Must be willing to travel as required to meet the service needs of the company’s customers.
- Review the following week’s schedule and communicate with leads.
- Arrive at the job site prepared and on time.
- Maintain appropriate notes in Sedona.
- Keep a positive attitude, complete reports on time, and take the initiative to learn new skills and learn from others.
- Develop a plan with your manager to obtain the required licenses, certifications, and knowledge.

Education and/or Experience:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid E06 trainee card
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to work well with all levels of personnel

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions:
This position requires the ability to perform essential physical functions, including standing, walking, reaching, and bending for extended periods; occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently lifting up to 20 pounds; climbing ladders; and crawling through attics and crawl spaces as needed. The role also requires the ability to drive extended distances to and from appointments and a willingness to stay overnight in company‑provided accommodations when required.
