Senior Project Manager - Gothenburg

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to drive a major transformation initiative aimed at modernizing system design methodologies and toolchains within a complex, global engineering organization. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on project execution, involving close collaboration with IS/IT, engineering teams, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the transformation project budget, including tooling, licenses, features, and IS/IT setup.

• Lead the implementation and rollout of a new system design methodology and supporting toolchain, including the establishment of services for new tools.

• Manage the handover between method experts leading the change and internal stakeholders responsible for IS/IT operations and tool usage.

• Coordinate and oversee collaboration with external suppliers during the transition phase.

• Ensure clear understanding of scope, roles, and responsibilities across the project organization.

• Maintain continuous alignment and communication with global, cross-functional teams.

• Provide structured progress reporting and represent the program toward senior stakeholders (Director level and above).

• Ensure project outcomes meet agreed timelines, budget constraints, and quality requirements.

• Support requirements analysis, including identification of technical constraints and licensing needs.

• Develop and maintain detailed plans for customization, migration, and decommissioning of legacy methods, including approval and escalation handling.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project and process risks, and establish contingency plans.

• Drive continuous improvement through regular lessons learned and refinement of software development processes.

• Extensive experience leading projects in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, preferably within software development in automotive or industrial settings.

• At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, ideally with a background in system architecture and system design modeling.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Proven experience working with global, distributed teams and an enterprise-level perspective.

• Solid expertise in requirements definition and management.

• Demonstrated ability to understand complex systems and break them down into structured, manageable components.

• Excellent communication skills, sound judgment, strong initiative, and execution capability.

• Well-developed interpersonal skills, including relationship management, conflict resolution, and negotiation.

• Fluency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written, is required.
