Senior Scientist I (Precision Health), Bii

To lead cutting-edge research in computational biology and AI-driven biomedical informatics under the NRF Postdoctoral Award, contributing to Singapore?s RIE2030 goals and BII?s strategic initiatives in healthy longevity and translational medicine.

Key Responsibilities

Develop AI/ML models for biological aging, multi-modal data integration, and clinical trial simulations (e.g., ongoing SG10K and SG100K projects).
Advance biomarker development and intervention modeling to support preventive and personalized longevity healthcare, with a focus on Asian populations.
Build synthetic data platforms to predict aging trajectories and model potential intervention.
Create intellectual property and translate them towards impact generation. This may include
Licensing of biomarkers and platforms for clinical use through engagements with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and longevity clinic partners.
Supporting start-up formation
Building commercial partnerships in AI-driven healthy longevity research.
Establish international collaborations with key leaders in healthy longevity research.
Develop local and international grant proposals in healthy longevity research.
Work closely with interdisciplinary teams within A*STAR and external partners.
Mentor junior researchers and foster a collaborative research environment.
Represent BII in national and international forums, advancing Singapore?s biomedical research reputation.

Qualifications

PhD in Computational Biology/Bioinformatics (Yale University).
Recognized for innovation and entrepreneurship (Forbes 30 Under 30, 2025).
Expertise in Bioinformatics pipeline design and data quality oversight.
Expertise in AI-driven approaches for biomedical research.
Experience in translational research and startup engagement. Track record of working in a biomedical startup, licensing of IP and/or advisory roles in industry is bonus.
