This is a non-exempt hourly position full-time or part-time. Scheduled hours may vary based on demand. Essential Functions

-Set up dining room for service.

-Complete opening and closing side work duties.

-Regularly participate in beer education and product knowledge education.

-Adequately understand and explain menu items.

-Execute professional level of guest service.

-Clear, clean, reset any table in the restaurant as needed.

-Seat and guide guests as needed.

-Run food and drinks to tables as needed.

-Proper cash and credit card handling procedures.

-Assist in cleaning projects, deep cleaning, necessary clean up of any mess including back areas and restrooms.

-Pick up and take out trash, sweep the dining room floor, mop up any spills.

-Take guest orders and communicate them to the kitchen via the POS system or handheld system.

This is not an all-encompassing list of duties and responsibilities associates may from time to time participate in additional tasks and duties assigned by management as needed for successful server and dining room operations.

Requirements

-Ability to communicate clearly with management and team members, communicate with kindness with guests and team members.

-Follow all meal and rest break period state requirements.

-Work in a fast-paced environment under high pressure circumstances.

-Safe alcohol serving procedures, verify legal drinking age for all guests who appear 30 years old or younger.

-Proper food handling procedures.

-ServeSafe or equivalent safe food handling certification.

-Punctuality.

-Able to communicate safety words throughout the working area.

-Assist with any other tasks or critical operational demand.

Work and physical environment

This position requires multi-tasking and orchestrating several tasks at one time. It may require working late hours, weeknights, weekend nights, and holidays. Working in crowds and navigating trays with drinks or hot dishes through crowds may be required. This position may require employees to navigate small spaces with higher-than-normal temperatures, near other employees, with brightly lit computer screens. Working in a loud environment with several conversations and music happening at the same time. It may be necessary to enter and exit the dining room to serve outdoor seating, during cloudy, sunny, wet and windy conditions. Employees may need to move continuously for extended periods of time, may need to position themselves up high or below, bend back and knees, and enter and exit cold coolers. It may be necessary to lift up 50 pounds from time to time. It may be necessary to handle difficult guests, intoxicated guests, and difficult interpersonal situations. It may be necessary to carry soiled dishes, glassware, napkins. It may be necessary to use cleaning chemicals to clean tables and other surfaces. Skid and slip resistant foot wear and appropriate clothing may be required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.90 - $20.00 per hour
