An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled and motivated Service Technician – 2IC to join our Service Centre team. Reporting to the Service Manager, this role is responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a nominated range of equipment while also supporting and supervising the daily operations of the Service Centre. This position is ideal for a technician with strong mechanical capability who is ready to step into a leadership role.
What will you do?
- Perform repairs, servicing and maintenance on turf maintenance equipment, recycling equipment and tractors
- Diagnose faults in diesel and gasoline engines, hydrostatic transmissions and hydraulic systems as part of complete equipment repair
- Locate worn or faulty components using visual inspection and diagnostic tools
- Remove, repair and replace engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical systems and major components
- Disassemble components and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers and measurement tools
- Adjust valves, check compression, isolate engine failures and repair electrical faults using wiring diagrams
- Test equipment using diagnostic equipment to confirm performance
- Order parts, complete invoicing and update service records in accordance with Toro systems
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance onsite for customers
- Respond to urgent repair requests and assist operators with troubleshooting
- Deliver product service training to clients as directed
- Ensure compliance with WHSE requirements and relevant legal and ethical standards
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Support the Service Manager in coordinating daily Service Centre operations and staff
- Monitor workflow and ensure all work meets quality standards
- Provide guidance, leadership and product support to technicians
- Implement service standards, policies and procedures
- Backfill the Service Manager during periods of absence
