Sewing Machine Operator/ Boxing

Michael Thomas Furniture, Inc. has two openings in our Sewing Department for Sewing Machine Operators. Applicants must have experience sewing upholstery to custom upholstered furniture covers. The positions are full time, with hours Monday through Thursday from 6:45 am until 4:15 pm and Friday from 6:45-10:45 .Also a flexible schedule. Pay will be based upon experience. Essential Functions:

· Ability to read and interpret production tickets.

· Verify appropriate thread for fabric style.

· Operate industrial pneumatic sewing machine to assemble product.

· Monitor quality.

· Record quantity produced.

· Inspect all upholstered pieces for accuracy.

· Apply custom trims as needed.

Preferred Skills:

· Knowledge of boxing assembly

Knowledge of welted and non-welted

Knowledge of welt and boxing sizes

· Understanding of pattern matching.

Ability to read a tape measure

· Ability to maintain seam tolerances according to style.

· Must have good communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
