About Asset Services
The Asset Services Department is committed to providing the highest standard of specialised asset management and engineering maintenance to all of Austin Health’s campuses.
Asset Services is part of the Information & Services directorate and is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair and replacement of all buildings, plant, and all medical equipment. The department holds accountability for Austin Health’s Facility Maintenance, Biomedical Engineering and Maintenance Service teams. The role will require working across all Austin Health sites.
About the role
The Asset Coordinator will work within the Medical Asset Team at Austin Health and play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service to all end users of medical equipment. They will be responsible for the dispatch, return, working condition and cleaning of Medical Equipment listed in the library.
About you
As the Shared Asset Coordinator, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work and have a keen interest in developing your skillset. The position requires you to be mobile, moving around the hospital to deliver medical equipment on a frequent basis.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
- Previous experience in a large hospital environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to effectively self-manage and allocate priorities.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of logistical functions.

The responsibilities for the is role focus on:
- Customer Service: Providing excellent service to end users, which may include medical staff, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals who require medical assets.
- Equipment Dispatch and Return: Coordinating the timely and accurate delivery and retrieval of equipment to and from departments or individuals.
- Maintenance and Cleaning: Ensuring that all equipment is in good working order, cleaned, and properly maintained according to health and safety standards.
