Capital Auto Centre's dedicated Service Department is there to help our customers preserve their purchase and keep their vehicle running properly. We are looking for a candidate who will represent our brand image and will ensure a positive customer experience to all our customers.
As a Shop Foreperson, you will be responsible for supervising a team of automotive technicians, coordinating workflow, diagnosing complex vehicle issues, and ensuring all repairs meet company and industry standards. This is a working position which also means you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and servicing mechanical, electronic systems, and components of vehicles serviced and owned by Capital Auto Group. We need a proactive self-starter that is able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. A candidate who is proud of their work and can be a leader within our growing team!
A day in the life…
- Scheduling, coordinating, and supervising the work of automotive technicians and support staff.
- Diagnosing and resolving complex or unusual vehicle malfunctions, determining effective corrective measures.
- Ensuring efficient workflow and manage work orders to optimize productivity.
- Coaching and mentor technicians to enhance workmanship and reduce comebacks.
- Maintaining accurate records of labor, materials, parts, and supplies used in repairs and maintenance.
- Monitoring and ensure all tools, equipment, and facilities are properly serviced and maintained.
- Collaborating with the Service Manager to develop plans for improving shop efficiency and meeting dispatch goals.
- Generating productivity and earnings reports for shop staff as requested.
- Troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing parts and components of automotive systems, including fuel, brake, steering and suspension systems, transmissions, differentials, drive axles and shafts, emission control and exhaust systems, engines and electrical, cooling and climate control systems by using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment
- Advising customers on work performed, general vehicle conditions and future repair requirements
- Additional responsibilities as assigned, subject to periodic adjustments to align with company objectives

- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex automotive issues.
- In-depth knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the automotive trade.
- Knowledge of company policies and warranty procedures.
- Ensures safety policies, standards, and procedures are followed to achieve a safe work environment and safety for all staff, customers, and vendors
What We Require From You…
- Having full body mobility and the ability to twist, turn, bend at the waist, squat and lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time with hands above the head.
- Certificate of graduation from an Apprenticeship Program at a recognized technical training institute with Journeyperson Status is a MUST.
- 3 years of experience as a journeyperson mechanic, including demonstrated supervisory ability preferred.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a Driver's Abstract
- Record of Conduct
Hours of work: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.
