Kildonan Common Inc. of Manitoba is a private, community-based company that offers Transitional programming for youth from Child and Family Services. The Programs develop skills towards independence with the goal that youth will be able to move into their own apartment in the KC my PLACE Program.
Kildonan Common is currently seeking a qualified individual with a degree in Social Work to fill a full-time position. The candidate would be responsible for a wide range of services, including case management, counselling, resourcing youth, progress meetings, financial responsibilities, and additional duties as required. Regular office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, with flex time expected. Applicants must be able and willing to become registered with the Manitoba College of Social Workers within a timely manner.
Qualifications:
B.S.W or M.S.W, registered with Manitoba College of Social Workers.
Post-degree related experience in the child welfare field is an asset
Knowledge of the Child and Family Service Act.
Effective assessment, interviewing ,relationship building, problem solving & organizational skills.
Knowledge and understanding of intergenerational trauma, colonization.
Knowledge of addictions, and resources
Ability to work in a team environment & independently without prompting.
Demonstration of initiative, a self-starter, genuine interest in ta positive outcome for the youth
successful completion of a Child and Adult Abuse registry. Criminal Record check, Prior Contact check & Driver's Abstract check.
Preference will be given to individuals who identify as Indigenous.
