Software Engineer Intern

We are looking for Software Engineer Intern in our Vista, CA office. This position will assist senior software developers and be a part of a cross-functional team to develop and maintain cargo inspection systems for the Ports and Borders group at Leidos. The intern will be able to participate and help with design and development Windows client-server applications using C#. The intern will gain experience utilizing object-oriented design principals, practices, and patterns to ensure our code base is reusable and maintainable.

Primary Responsibilities

The intern will participate in a variety of meetings and activities designed to expose the individual to Leidos corporate culture. The intern will prepare and present a formal presentation outlining their accomplishments to management. We are interested in a student who is motivated to learn and gain experience in an engineering environment.

Basic Qualifications

• The successful candidate must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and/or college and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering.
• The successful candidate must have already completed core software courses.
• The successful candidate must have a passion for problem solving, excellent organization skills, and excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
• The successful candidate must be able to work in a team setting and independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Visual Studio and Azure DevOps is a plus but not necessary.
• Proficiency in C++ or C# is a plus but not necessary.
