Your role at a glance

The construction scheduler is responsible for reviewing /analyzing the General Contractors’ schedules and reporting schedule health to the Director, Global Scheduling and other stakeholders. This will include working closely with NTT’s Construction Team and General Contractors to ensure scheduling best practices are applied across NTT GDC Japan. The construction scheduler will also assist in analyzing schedule delays by reviewing the General Contractors’ Time Impact Analysis. This position will play an important role in providing data driven input to support NTT’s predictability. The construction scheduler will be responsible for collecting as built data and working with the Director, Global Scheduling in developing the internal master schedule.

What we are looking for

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the baseline establishment efforts by partnering with NTT’s general contractors.
  • Review General Contractors’ project schedules to identify potential concerns/issues with a focus on mitigation.
  • Develop monthly internal reports and effectively communicate schedule risks.
  • Create schedule what-if scenarios to influence and drive decision making.
  • Implement scheduling best practices and drive standardization across NTT GDC APAC.
  • Develop and implement scheduling key performance indicators and create scheduling dashboards. Communicate schedule health with the project key stakeholders.
  • Creates and maintains high-level schedules and ensures NTT delivers the planned capacity on time.
  • Review Time Impact Analysis and provide feedback to the construction team and general contractors.
  • Partner closely with NTT GDC Japan preconstruction, design, supply chain, and project management to plan the project and maintain control through the project life cycle.
  • Create and Update NTT Japan internal master schedules.
  • Lead schedule meeting with the construction team and general contractors.
  • Performs any other related task as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Fully versed in critical path scheduling requirements for construction projects.
  • Experience with earned value management and ability to utilize it in internal reporting.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to understand, build, and approve/accept schedules produced by contractors.
  • Experience in reviewing time impact analysis and recovery schedules.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to clearly set and lead meetings to develop strong project control systems.
  • Ability to integrate data from P6 into power BI dashboards.
  • Full professional fluency in Japanese and English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to be highly confidential.
  • Proficient with computers to include the utilization of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Manages stress and/or fast pace effectively.
  • Excellent analytical, creative thinking, written and verbal communication skills.
  • PSP or PMP certified is a plus.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Business, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience with construction scheduling responsibilities, that include schedule development, schedule analysis, earned value analysis, and forensic scheduling.
  • Experience with Data Centers or high-tech construction projects is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.
  • Able to hear and speak into a telephone.
  • Close visual work on a computer terminal.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Standard office; Data Center environment with varying temperatures and loud noises; extensive daily usage of workstation or computer.
  • This role is expected to be remote with an occasional need to be on-site and/or construction jobsite.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver’s license.
