Job Overview
Are you energized by fast-paced environments and enjoy leading a team while creating great customer experiences? We are hiring a full-time Store Manager to manage daily operations at a busy seasonal ice cream and frozen yogurt shop.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, coaching younger staff, and keeping operations running smoothly during high-volume summer days. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily store activities, managing staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management to foster a positive shopping environment and achieve business objectives.
Experience supervising or working in high-volume quick-service environments (such as McDonald’s or similar fast-food restaurants) is a strong asset.
What You’ll Do
Lead Daily Store Operations
- Oversee day-to-day operations of a busy seasonal ice cream store
- Ensure smooth service during peak periods
- Handle customer service issues promptly and professionally to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment
- Provide coverage and step into operational roles as needed
Lead & Support the Team
- Lead and supervise store staff, including recruiting, training, and developing team members to ensure high performance and engagement
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and provide ongoing training & development opportunities
- Utilize strong communication skills for effective staff coordination and customer interactions.
- Set clear expectations for customer service and workplace standards
- Provide coaching and constructive feedback to support performance
- Escalate performance concerns to management when required
Be Hands-On in Service & Training
- Perform core duties including scooping ice cream, preparing frozen yogurt, and serving customers
- Train staff on service techniques, food handling, and efficiency
- Lead by example with professionalism, positivity, and teamwork
Inventory & Deliveries
- Receive deliveries and complete accurate product counts
- Report shortages to suppliers the same day
- Conduct regular inventory checks and notify management of restocking needs
- Manage POS systems, cash handling procedures, and bookkeeping tasks with accuracy.
Requirements
- Experience in a fast-paced food service or retail environment (high-volume experience preferred)
- Previous shift leader, supervisor, or store management experience strongly preferred
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and maintain standards during busy periods
- Experience with staff training, scheduling, and day-to-day operations
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Organized and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working with and leading younger team members
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and basic inventory control
- Reliable and accountable, with consistent availability
Additional Requirements:
- FoodSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle (occasional off-site event shifts)
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $19.54-$23.53 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
