Position Summary
The Stormwater Project Manager plays a key role in advancing Tetra Tech’s mission to build resilient, sustainable communities. This position leads the design and delivery of innovative stormwater and municipal infrastructure projects that enhance water quality, mitigate flooding, and support long-term environmental health. Serving as both a technical and project management leader, this role ensures high-quality, cost-effective solutions while fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and strengthening client relationships throughout Florida.
Essential Job Functions
Manages multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and scientists to deliver stormwater and municipal infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
Oversees project planning, design, permitting, and construction support activities for stormwater quality, green infrastructure (GI), and low impact development (LID) projects.
Leads technical design development by preparing and reviewing feasibility studies, design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other project documentation to ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
Serves as the primary point of contact for municipal clients and regulatory agencies, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction throughout all project phases.
Provides quality assurance and quality control oversight on deliverables to uphold Tetra Tech’s standards for technical excellence.
Partners with internal business development and operations teams to identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities, leveraging existing on-call contracts and client relationships.
Mentors and develops mid-level and junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and accountability.
Coordinates with other project managers, discipline leads, and regional leadership to align resources, share best practices, and contribute to strategic growth initiatives across the Water Resources group.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Registered PE in Florida
8+ years of progressive experience conducting flood studies (concept through implementation) and analysis of stormwater/water resources projects for municipalities in Florida.
Experience as Engineer of Record for the construction of stormwater/water resources projects
Ability to lead a multi-disciplined team of engineers and designers in the preparation of construction, drawings, details, specifications, calculations, and engineers estimate of probable construction costs.
Working knowledge of water quality regulations and the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) program
Project management skills
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to:
Sit, stand, and use standard office equipment for extended periods.
Lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Walk on uneven terrain and navigate active construction sites safely.
Work Environment/Environment Factors
This position primarily operates in an office setting with hybrid flexibility.
Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, or field locations may be required.
Site visits may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, construction sites, and active infrastructure environments.
