Substance Abuse Counselor

Job Summary

As an Addiction Counselor, you will be responsible for providing counseling and support to individuals struggling with addiction. Your role will involve conducting individual and group therapy sessions, developing treatment plans, and offering guidance to help clients overcome their addiction.

Duties

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address addiction issues
• Utilize behavioral management techniques to assist clients in changing addictive behaviors
• Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each client's needs
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with regulations
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
• Educate clients and their families on addiction, recovery, and coping strategies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
• Certification or licensure in Addiction Counseling or related field preferred
• Knowledge of addiction medicine, ICD-9 coding, and medical records management
• Experience in providing clinical counseling services to individuals with addiction issues
• Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and therapeutic interventions
• Familiarity with home community care resources for ongoing support
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,567.00 - $84,087.00 per year
