SUMMER CAMP JUNE – AUGUST

Mandatory Orientation: May 30, 2026

Summer Camp Officially Starts on June 8, 2026, and will end July 31, 2026

Duties & Responsibilities

The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position.

  • Assist with the implementation of the different activities to include sports, team games, arts and crafts, music, and life skills.
  • Assist Site Supervisor(s) to maintain adequate inventory of program supplies.
  • Assist Site Supervisor(s) with providing guidance and coaching to the children, as necessary.
  • Ensure that supervisor is updated verbally, or in writing, on all activities and is kept informed of any related issues.
  • Performs maintenance (i.e. garbage disposal or cleaning of facility) as needed.
  • Ensures safe and sanitary conditions at all sites and reports to Site Supervisor(s) any problems encountered.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Assist with the tracking of the campers’ attendance.

Qualifications

What's required: (Minimum Requirements)

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of six-month(s) experience supervising children required either in a summer camp, day care/after-school care, or school setting.
  • Must be available and able to submit fingerprints to obtain DCF clearance 30 days prior to the start of scheduled summer camp.
  • Must attend mandatory staff meeting orientation.

What's preferred: (Desired Requirements)

  • One (1) year supervising children required either in a summer camp, daycare/after-school care, or school setting
  • Previous experience in municipal parks, schools, specific sports, arts, or aquatic programs


This is a temporary position that does not qualify for benefits.
