Survey CAD Technician – CT0226

Sanders Brothers Construction Co. is presently seeking a new member to join their surveying team. We currently have an opportunity as a Survey Cad Technician supporting the company’s surveying function. Sanders Brothers have provided construction related services to the Low Country since the early 1960’s and the surveying team is critical to its continued success.

Roles and responsibilities

• The Survey Cad Technician will be responsible for supporting surveying crews during their daily activities by providing calculated points for stakeout.
• Responsibilities will also include as-built drafting when necessary.
• Calculating points for construction stakeout to include staking: sewer systems, drainage systems, water systems, road, and construction grading.
• Drafting construction as-builts with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Coordinating with survey crews.
• Apply knowledge and experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Terramodel, or other similar software programs for as-built drafting.
• Tracking and input of survey crew time.
• Apply knowledge of the principles, techniques and practices of land surveying
• Apply knowledge of the principles, practices and instruments used in drafting
• Apply knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices and construction specifications, and plans
• Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform any other general duties as specified.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of surveying and CAD experience required.
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Access, and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Trimble Terramodel is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience drafting as-builts for the local authorities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent research and analytical problem solving skills involving civil engineering analysis and resolution required.
• Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by complying with standards established by SBCC policy.
• Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to background checks.
