Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep understanding of sushi techniques, with an emphasis on quality and presentation. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Duties

• Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and develop innovative menu items that reflect current trends in Japanese cuisine.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to food safety standards at all times.
• Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices.
• Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed to maintain quality and safety.
• Provide exceptional service by engaging with guests when necessary, sharing knowledge about sushi offerings.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the culinary industry.
• Strong culinary skills with expertise in knife skills and meal preparation.
• Experience in fine dining establishments is preferred.
• Knowledge of dietary department practices or experience as a dietary aide is a plus.
• Familiarity with menu planning and catering services is advantageous.
• Excellent food handling skills with a commitment to food safety regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
