Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation, and possess a deep understanding of food safety and handling practices. This role is essential in delivering high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant's standards and delight our guests.

Duties

• Prepare and present sushi dishes according to traditional techniques and modern presentation standards.
• Ensure the highest quality of ingredients is used for all sushi preparations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and exceptional dining experiences.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
• Assist in menu planning, including seasonal specials and catering options.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety standards.
• Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within the food industry is required.
• Fine dining experience is preferred, showcasing a commitment to high-quality food preparation.
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods related to sushi preparation.
• Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering services is advantageous.
• Background in dietary departments or as a dietary aide can be beneficial for understanding nutritional needs.
