This position is vital to the continued safe operations of our indoor pool and spa at the Chinn Aquatics and Fitness Center. We are looking for a safety-first coordinator with the soft skills to build relationships with all levels of our organization.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The Swim Lesson Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the safe and delivery of effective and community-based aquatic programming based off demands and need at the Chinn Aquatics and Fitness center. The main charge for the position is oversight of our swim lesson program, and the aquatics instructor staff at the center while maintaining the highest safety standards and exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate would have:
- 3+ years of experience working in aquatics.
- A bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Business Management/Administration, Public Administration, or related field
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Experience with Ellis & Associates
- Proven experience in leading and training aquatics staff
Starting Payrate: $23.25
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or G.E.D.
1 year of aquatic experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
A valid Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification is a must.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
Typical schedule varies based on operational needs, typically in between 8:00am - 9:00pm Monday-Thursday, and 8:00am - 1:00pm on the weekends.
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism conducts DMV records checks on all employees driving for work purposes and criminal background checks on all hires age 18 years and older.
Note: The information that follows is a County-wide Classification Specification that may include details not specifically applicable to this position.
Full-time and part-time Prince William County Government employees are eligible to participate in our plans; however, the level and cost of benefits depends on the classification of the position.
