DPS Engineering are seeking a Turnaround Mechanical Lead for an assignment located in East Cork (Oil & Gas)
This role will support critical shutdowns across the facility and is essential for ensuring all mechanical tasks are completed safely and efficiently during turnaround projects. This is a 12-month contract initially with the potential to become a permanent role.
Responsibilities
- Gather and define the scope for turnaround projects to meet objectives.
- Develop and manage detailed job plans and schedules; estimate costs for budgeting.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Act as the principal liaison between the turnaround team and maintenance staff.
- Lead interactive planning sessions and risk reviews.
- Oversee daily progress during execution, addressing any issues quickly and efficiently.
- Manage resources effectively, ensuring adequate staffing and equipment.
- Document all phases of planning and execution using digital tools.
- Review and implement improvements from past projects for continuous enhancement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or a strong trades background as a Mechanical Fitter.
- Proven experience in a similar role, particularly in turnaround projects or maintenance planning.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with project management software.
- Excellent communication skills for effective liaison and reporting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
