Teacher Library - (0.4fte) - Lalor Park Public School

Position Information

Lalor Park Public School lies in the heart of Lalor Park in the Blacktown LGA. We are a comprehensive P-6 school, catering for the needs of students in their journey from the early years in Preschool and throughout their primary education. We cater for the diverse needs of our students by offering inclusive education classes for students with Autism and other disabilities, alongside mainstream classes, all addressing the K-6 syllabus. A team of specialist educators from LPPS support students who are Deaf, and Hard of Hearing and a Learning and Support Assistant Principal to build the capacity of educators to meet the individual needs through differentiated teaching and learning programs. This additional support ensures that students from LPPS and beyond are supported and assists us to build the team around the child in partnership with parents and carers.

As of 2025, Lalor Park Public School currently has 229 students across P-6, with 17.47% identifying and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 34% from a language background other than English.


Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teach Infants & Primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education
  • Capacity to implement a creative, flexible and innovative approach to managing a library that functions as a learning hub to support literacy learning, technology use, HPGE, critical thinking and the diverse needs of all students from P-6.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including effective communication and a demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with teachers, students and community members.
  • Knowledge, and effective implementation, of positive behaviour management strategies to ensure safe, inclusive learning environments are established and maintained, where all students feel valued and respected.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.



Special Notes

A permanent part time library teacher for 2 days per week 0.4FTE (Full-time equivalent) vacancy exists at Lalor Park Public School.

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.

Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
