Teacher - Mathematics - Molong Central School

Position Information

Molong Central School has an enrolment of 399 students from K-12, with 24.3% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. Students come from a diverse range of socio-economic backgrounds, making equity a priority for the school community.

The school offers a broad curriculum, and its unique K-12 environment allows staff and students to share opportunities across both the Primary and Secondary sections. The school's results reflect consistency across all Key Learning Areas (KLAs), with a strong emphasis on personal achievement. Molong Central School is well-renowned for offering a diverse academic pattern of study in the senior years.

Extra-curricular opportunities in sport, debating, and the arts are embraced as valuable experiences for students in a small rural community. The proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students is increasing, and the school is committed to improving the delivery of education for these students while ensuring all students have meaningful exposure to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across all KLAs.

The school currently employs 48 teachers and 30 administration and support staff, including additional temporary staff funded through school-based initiatives to better support student learning.

As a result of the school's situational analysis, a focus on explicit, differentiated teaching has been identified. This will involve:

  • Supporting all students and their families to actively engage with their educational commitments.
  • Developing high expectations across the school community to foster a culture where students and teachers are motivated to strive for continuous improvement.
  • Implementing wellbeing approaches that enable students to engage meaningfully in their learning.
