Daycare Teacher’s Assistant Job Description Position Summary:
The Daycare Teacher’s Assistant supports lead teachers in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role involves assisting with classroom activities, supervising children, and ensuring a clean and organized space while fostering positive relationships with both children and families.
Key Responsibilities: Classroom Support & Child Supervision:
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
- Help set up and clean up activities, meals, and nap times.
- Foster a warm and nurturing environment where children feel secure and supported.
Childcare & Daily Routine Assistance:
- Assist with feeding, diapering, and potty training as needed.
- Encourage positive behaviors and help children develop social skills.
- Monitor children’s progress and report observations to the lead teacher.
- Provide comfort and reassurance to children experiencing separation anxiety or emotional distress.
Classroom Organization & Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment.
- Sanitize toys, learning materials, and surfaces regularly.
- Ensure supplies and materials are stocked and organized.
Communication & Teamwork:
- Support lead teachers in maintaining a positive and structured learning atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
- Assist in daily reports and documentation of children’s activities and progress.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Experience working with young children in a daycare or similar setting (preferred).
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Medical Assessment & TB Check
- Ability to pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
Skills & Abilities:
- Patient, caring, and enthusiastic about working with children.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and follow directions from lead teachers.
- Physical stamina to lift children, bend, kneel, and be active throughout the day.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
Work Location: In person
