We are looking for a structured and proactive Technical Inventory & Purchasing Coordinator to strengthen our Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) department at the Netherlands Logistics Centre (NLC) in Tilburg.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, accuracy, and efficient management of technical spare parts supporting our automated production and logistics equipment. You will coordinate spare parts procurement, inventory control, supplier follow-up, workshop administration, and maintenance support processes.

Working closely with Maintenance Technicians and Engineers, you will help optimize spare parts availability, improve inventory processes, reduce equipment downtime risks, and ensure maintenance activities are supported through accurate administration and timely purchasing.

Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Manage and continuously improve the spare parts inventory for automated production and logistics equipment, ensuring optimal stock levels based on usage patterns, criticality, and supplier lead times.
  • Monitor stock availability and proactively prevent shortages that could impact maintenance operations and equipment uptime.
  • Coordinate the purchasing process for technical spare parts and maintenance-related materials, including supplier communication, purchase order creation, order follow-up, and delivery tracking.
  • Identify opportunities to improve spare parts availability, stock accuracy, supplier performance, and inventory management processes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock checks and cycle counts to ensure inventory reliability.
  • Organize and manage workshop administration, ensuring clear identification, storage, and traceability of technical components and spare parts.
  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the Maintenance & Engineering department.
  • Analyze maintenance, inventory, and purchasing data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Support and maintain the maintenance work-order management system and contribute to the development of performance reports and dashboards.
  • Manage maintenance-related purchase orders, invoices, and administrative records, ensuring timely processing and proper documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO calibration requirements by tracking schedules and maintaining accurate records.
  • Act as a key support partner for Maintenance Technicians and Engineers by providing accurate information, administrative support, and spare parts availability.

Qualifications:

You bring:

  • MBO level 4 education, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Technical Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in a maintenance, workshop, manufacturing, production, logistics, or technical service environment.
  • Proven experience with spare parts management, technical inventory control, warehouse operations, or maintenance stores administration.
  • Experience creating purchase orders, coordinating suppliers, and following up deliveries.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles, stock counting, cycle counting, and stock accuracy control.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of technical components, mechanical parts, or industrial equipment.
  • Experience working with ERP, CMMS, WMS, or maintenance management systems is an advantage.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with data, reports, and administrative systems.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement practical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, engineers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent command of English; Dutch is considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve inventory, purchasing, or operational processes through practical analysis and structured problem solving.
