We are a busy Building Energy Rating (BER) practice based in Letterkenny seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Technical Office Administrator to support both the technical and operational side of the business.
This role combines structured technical work (completing property calculation sheets and entering data into DEAP software) with office coordination duties such as scheduling appointments and researching property information. The successful candidate will work closely with and coordinate daily activities alongside the Office Administrator to ensure smooth workflow across the business.
It is a varied and responsible position within a growing technical practice.
Full training will be provided in our internal systems and processes.
Important Note About the Role
This position is heavily focused on numbers, structured calculations, and technical data processing. A strong interest in mathematics and logical problem-solving is essential.
The majority of the work involves precision-based calculations and detailed Excel analysis. Candidates who do not enjoy working with numbers or who prefer primarily customer-facing roles may find this position unsuitable.
We are seeking someone who genuinely enjoys analytical work and takes satisfaction in accuracy and structured technical tasks.
Main Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Completing structured Excel calculation workbooks for each property
- Inputting and verifying floor areas, wall areas, windows, doors and building fabric details
- Assisting with heat loss and energy performance calculations
- Entering assessment data into DEAP software
- Cross-checking Excel calculations against DEAP entries
- Preparing draft documentation for assessor review
Office & Administrative Support
- Coordinating daily tasks with the Office Administrator
- Scheduling property inspection appointments
- Managing assessor diaries
- Researching property details (e.g. planning permissions, construction dates, property history)
- Organising digital project files
- Handling client queries via phone and email
- Covering core administrative duties during holiday periods
- Assisting with general office organisation and workflow
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From €14.15 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
