Technical Sales Representative

Specific Mechanical Systems Ltd. is looking for an experienced technical sales representative to join our sales team and build new client relationships and generate business opportunities.

We are a manufacturer of brewing and distilling equipment, pressure vessels, food and beverage equipment, pharmaceutical and biotech systems. The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-motivated, mature and well-rounded sales professional with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment. You will work with a diverse and committed team and have excellent organizational and communication skills. This position requires the ability to establish and foster client relationships, prioritize work-loads, provide timely responses, and close sales.

This position is based in our Victoria, BC facility and will include approximately 25-30% travel. Hybrid work arrangements will be considered. Strong applicants from outside Victoria, BC are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively seek out new clients and build relationships
  • Prospect new sales opportunities
  • Provide clients with advice, information, and quotations
  • Represent the company professionally at all times, including customer meetings, trade shows, conferences, etc.
  • Market research and business development analysis
  • Support sales and marketing and other department teams as needed

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to produce results selling custom, specialty equipment
  • Business or technical degree preferred, or combination of related sales, business and technical experience
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing sector related to brewing, distilling, steel fabrication, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other related industry

  • Top notch face to face, telephone, email communications and relationship building
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, prioritizing, organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professional performance in a dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated and self-driven
  • Proficient and consistent use of Salesforce CRM, MS Office Suite, in particular MS Excel
  • Experience with web and graphic office tools an asset
  • RFP writing and responses
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment functionality and capabilities
  • An overriding desire to succeed

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
