Working Conditions:
The Technical Sales Representative will involve developing and expanding the company's presence in the educational market for engineering and science lab equipment in the Eastern part of Canada. The candidate will be expected to identify new business opportunities, build relationships with educational institutions, and drive sales growth in this sector.

Working Conditions:
- This position will be a combination of Office-Based and Field work such as meeting clients and attending conferences
- There may be a disruption of lifestyle such as travel up to 20% of the time with some overnight travel
The Technical Sales Representative will involve developing and expanding the company's presence in the educational market for engineering and science lab equipment in the Eastern part of Canada. The candidate will be expected to identify new business opportunities, build relationships with educational institutions, and drive sales growth in this sector.
Qualifications required
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a Scientific or Technical field. Education in a discipline related to the educational lab industry would be an asset
- Languages: English is required, Bilingual in English and French is preferred and considered an asset
- Work Experience: 3-5 years in technical sales
- Experience with Educational lab materials will be considered an asset
- Experience in developing markets or business development will be considered an asset
- Must have varied software experience, data acquisition, and Office 365
- Must have interpersonal Sales Skills including:
- Being an effective communicator
- Must have excellent presentation skills
- Must be an effective time and organization manager
- Must relate well to people; build effective and constructive relationships
- Must be driven for sales results and be goal driven
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the educational sector, focusing
on universities, colleges, and research institutions. - Serve as the primary contact with key vendors in the educational field.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales and gross margin targets in assigned territory
- Execute the communicated sales strategy to drive revenue growth and achieve
departmental and organizational business objectives. - Provide technical expertise to customers, addressing inquiries and offering
solutions. - Effectively communicate the technical features and benefits of products.
- Stay updated on product knowledge, industry regulations, and market trends., as
well as acquire better selling skills - Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including
procurement managers, faculty, lab coordinators, and academic administrators. - Reporting includes:
- Effective communication with the National Sales Manager, other sales team
members, as well as purchasing, finance, warehouse, service, team members - Sales and related monthly forecasting and report generation
- Effective communication with the National Sales Manager, other sales team
- Strive to manage sales territory in a planned and organized manner as approved by
the National Sales Manager, including:- Cultivate and maintain support and strong relationships with existing customers.
- Pipeline growth. Develop new customer connections and expand the customer
base. - Contribute to the development of strategies for market expansion and new
market penetration - Identify and explore new markets and opportunities for the company’s
products.
- Use technical knowledge to present and demonstrate the company’s range of lab
equipment, highlighting their features and benefits. - Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive
products. - Gather and analyze customer feedback to contribute to product and service
improvement. - Provide insights and suggestions for enhancing customer satisfaction
