Position Summary

The Practice Technology Technician will support the firm’s internal Electronic Discovery offerings. This role will be based in our Manila office.


Duties and Accountabilities1

  • Support multiple database applications, including document review platforms, transcript management systems and file transfer protocol workspaces.
  • Create database workspaces, manage users and user groups in the firm’s e-discovery platforms, transfer data, process and load data to review platforms, run document productions, load third party data, perform data exports
  • Become familiar with the Electronic Discovery Reference model.
  • Provide support for users (directly or as a third party), with the ability to meet strict deadlines under significant time constraints:

o Provide resolution or route to other support teams as appropriate.

o Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating needs and deliverable deadlines. Extended hours are required at times including evening and weekend hours.

o Required to monitor and respond to email after hours.

  • Maintenance, tracking and archival of data on third party processing environment.
  • Document recommended practices for use of corporate legal technology tools when appropriate.
  • Assist with testing new technology and provide feedback to team management.
  • Support the Project Management team in standard data processing and handling tasks, or any other technical requests as necessary.
  • Manage and audit team’s matter tracking and management system for compliance with standard operating procedures
  • Support Practice Technology team members in department’s day to day activities.
  • Perform other duties necessary and essential to support the firm's strategic technology goals.

Qualifications

· Excellent customer service skills to resolve users’ issues in the most efficient yet thorough way possible.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact effectively with firm personnel and clients on all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail, preferably with experience in data management.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies, methods and concepts quickly.

Education and Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Experience in a law firm, technology company or comparable industry a plus.
  • Basic project management skills a plus.
  • Experience in supporting end-users on various legal technology solutions, including automation tools preferred.
  • Understanding of relational databases, queries and tables required.
  • Ability to learn quickly and Flexibility to work at different times to support team members and ongoing project needs.
  • Expertise in standard business software applications such as Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required; experience in document processing/document review platforms (such as Summation, Concordance, Relativity, Law, Venio One, etc.) a strong plus.
  • Experience with active directory and user group administration a plus.


Location & Reporting

  • This position is in our Manila office, reporting to the Practice Technology Senior Manager.
