The CTCT division (a joint venture between Trimble and Caterpillar) develops positioning, control and automation products for earthmoving and paving machines in the construction and mining industries, using technologies such as GNSS, optical total stations, lasers, sonics and IMUs. The products are used in a range of applications where the operator of the machine benefits from having accurate horizontal and vertical guidance.
Working in a team, you will be involved in the specification, design, documentation, and execution of testing of the machine control software and hardware. You will work closely with software and system engineers to ensure CTCT continues to provide high-quality products to the earth moving industry.
Key Accountabilities Key Outcomes
Operational
Test Engineers will be assigned discrete segments of functionality from a project and will be responsible for:
API, integration and system testing of products during development.
Interpretation of high-level marketing requirements into detailed user-centric specifications suitable for development purposes.
Create bug reports with detailed information and relevant supporting diagnostic information to allow the effective triaging and resolution of software issues.
Creating and updating test and regression plans for new features or products or replacement products
Creating and updating manual functional and non functional test cases.
Developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts to optimise the testing process and reduce manual testing efforts
Continuous improvement of testing processes.
Helping diagnose, troubleshoot and reproduce customer escalated cases
Any other duties directed by Management as and when required
Health and Safety
Demonstrates participation in the hazard reporting process.
Demonstrates participation in accurate reporting of incidents.
Contribute to a positive health and safety culture within the team
Maintains a safe and clean work environment always.
Reads, understands and follows all Safe Work Procedures
Ensures access to and wears the appropriate PPE.
Always work within the guidelines of the CTCT Health and Safety Policy or that of other PCBUs if off site
Undertake training as directed to ensure you are competent to safely operate equipment.

Qualifications / Experience
Minimum or 5 years experience in a relevant role, QA, Software Test Engineer or Software Engineer.
ISTQB Certified Tester "Foundation Level"/"Advanced Level"/"Agile Tester" certification or equivalent certification is beneficial.
An understanding of C++, Web or Android code is beneficial but not required.
Experience with Auto Test writing, tools and framework
